Though Shepherd Field International School Umuodu officially opened its doors for teaching and learning on the 10th of September, 2021, the idea of building a reputable school of International standard in the serene part of Umuodu Mbieri, close to Owerri metropolis began in 2009.

The laying of the foundation stone would not begin until the 13th of January, 2013, after four solid years of careful planning. Since then, all the arms of a pretertiary institution, créche, nursery, primary, and secondary schools have been systematically and dynamically developed.

Shepherd Field is a christian school established on the spirituality of Jesus the Good Shepherd, and run on the principle of goodness to benefit everyone by providing a staunch culture of scholarship hence, she is known for inculcating in growing children and young adults a great sense of justice, equity, hard work, and good conscience. Its goal is to educate the total person, academically, socially, and morally. Of course, this is done in partnership with parents.

In addition to science and technology, arts and craft have found their natural home in Shepherd Field. This is because of the much emphasis on the tripod; academics, sincerity, and productivity.
